Our Story
Hi, my name is Charlie Mugga, I am 19 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma at the age of 9. I was at that age where I was starting to discover myself. As much as I did not understand the extent of my condition and most of the things that were explained to me, It was extremely terrifying. ” I was wide awake when my biopsy was done.” It is a very long story that i will narrate as we go along. Thankfully, with the NHS, I successfully completed my treatment.
From Remission to MISSION is the Mantle we took on, to encourage and give hope to young people going through life-threatening conditions herein creating awareness of Teenage cancers through community initiatives and activities.
We will be holding our monthly webinars with workshops and mini seminars regarding young people and long-term health conditions supported by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Association UK. We will also hold our annual Charlie Mugga Teenage Cancer Run in its 3rd year running on 02/08/2-26 at the New River Sports Centre London all funds raised will go to our community awareness activities in London and the construction of the Charlie Mugga Games Hub at the Uganda Cancer Institute, Kampala Uganda.
I will also continue with our regular donations to Teenage Cancer Centre to support young people who are struggling to meet their minimal treatment costs, cope with the side effects of chemotherapy, and lack basic needs like nutritious foods and other life necessities.
